1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Points Compass ("Service"), operated by Points Compass ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Points Compass is a Canadian credit card points optimization platform that provides:

  • Spending analysis and credit card comparison tools
  • AI-generated points strategy reports
  • Travel redemption planning tools
  • Educational content about loyalty programs

3. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

4. Subscription Plans & Billing

Points Compass offers Free, Pro ($12 CAD/month), and Elite ($29 CAD/month) subscription tiers. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to:

  • Recurring monthly billing at the stated rate in Canadian Dollars (CAD), exclusive of any applicable taxes
  • Charges processed by Stripe Payments Canada Ltd. ("Stripe"), our third-party payment processor (see Section 5)
  • Automatic renewal at the end of each billing period until you cancel
  • The ability to cancel at any time from your account settings; access continues through the end of the paid period

4.1 Refund Policy

All subscription fees are non-refundable, except as required by applicable Canadian consumer protection law. Specifically:

  • Monthly plans — no refunds for partial months. Cancel anytime; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Duplicate or accidental charges — refunded in full within 7 business days of a written request to ptscompass@gmail.com.
  • Service failure — if a paid feature is unavailable for an extended period due to our fault, we will issue a pro-rata credit or refund at our discretion.
  • Statutory rights — nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your province (including, where applicable, BC's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act).

Refunds are issued through Stripe back to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear.

5. Payments & Stripe

Payment processing on Points Compass is provided by Stripe Payments Canada Ltd. By providing payment information, you also agree to be bound by:

Card numbers, CVCs, and full payment credentials are submitted directly to Stripe and are never stored on Points Compass servers. We receive only a reference token, the last four digits of your card, the card brand, and billing metadata required to manage your subscription.

6. Affiliate & Referral Compensation

Points Compass participates in referral programs offered by certain Canadian credit card issuers, including American Express Canada. When you click a card name styled as a blue underlined link and are subsequently approved for that card, we may receive a referral bonus, typically paid in loyalty points or miles.

This disclosure is provided in line with the Government of Canada's Competition Bureau Influencer Marketing Guidelines.

  • You will pay the same price and receive the same welcome bonus whether or not you use our referral link.
  • Referral compensation does not influence which cards we recommend, our rankings, or the math in our calculators and reports.
  • You are free to apply directly on the issuer's website at any time.

7. Disclaimer — Not Financial Advice

Points Compass does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. All recommendations, reports, projections, and comparisons are for informational and educational purposes only. Card earn rates, annual fees, points valuations, and program terms may change without notice. Always verify current terms directly with the card issuer or loyalty program before making financial decisions.

8. AI-Generated Content

Strategy reports and recommendations are generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, outdated information, or incomplete analysis. You should independently verify any information before acting on it.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use automated tools to access the Service (bots, scrapers, etc.)
  • Interfere with the Service's operation or security

10. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and branding of Points Compass are our exclusive property or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Points Compass shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, points, travel benefits, or data, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Data & Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at ptscompass@gmail.com.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.
